On the heels of a high-flying debut in James Gunn’s Superman, David Corenswet has touched down with a new role modeling menswear for Banana Republic.
The actor made his way to San Francisco for a scenic photo shoot to help unveil the fashion brand’s October Edit. Per Banana Republic, the range “highlights timeless, textured layers designed as effortless, wear-everywhere staples” through fall pieces featuring premium wool, leather, signature denim, corduroy and flannel. The images find Corenswet outfitted in a variety of styles from a rugged leather jacket paired with jeans to a knit sweater up top and sweatpants down below.
“As if they were made for my purpose. Comfortable, with a rugged functionality that holds up when the weather turns,” Corenswet said in a statement. “Everyone wishes they had something like the herringbone overcoat or the belted leather jacket. Wearable and versatile— ready to be deployed for many an adventure or occasion.”
In a new interview with Men’s Health about the campaign, the actor reveals “dignity” and his one sartorial rule. “I never want to overdress, but I always want to be appropriate,” he told the publication. “For me it’s about simple precision; choosing something that suits the moment.”
Speaking of suits, while playing Superman, he had quite a few scenes with the rambunctious Krypto, and fans of the four-legged friend may be pleased to know he also teamed with a dog for his Banana Republic shoot. See the campaign below.
