Netflix India has made a strong mark at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) 2025, celebrating nine National Wins (nominations) across multiple categories. Titles such as Black Warrant, The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan, Modern Masters – SS Rajamouli, and IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack will now compete at the Gala Finals in Singapore later this year.

Tanya Bami, Series Head at Netflix India, expressed her delight, saying, “We are so excited and humbled to be acknowledged for such a diverse range of stories and genres, representative of our series slate. Among the major highlights is Zahan Kapoor’s recognition in the Best Actor category for his performance as Sunil Gupta in Black Warrant. Reflecting on the honour, Kapoor said, “Being a part of Black Warrant has been an unforgettable journey, and to be recognised by the Asian Academy Creative Awards for this role feels truly surreal… It’s the kind of role that comes around once in a lifetime, and I feel incredibly privileged to have been entrusted with telling his story.”
Applause Entertainment MD, Sameer Nair, also celebrated the success, noting how Black Warrant received multiple nominations across categories including Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay. “We’re immensely proud that Black Warrant secured the most National Wins this year, and are looking forward to the Gala Awards in December, where the show will represent India in so many prestigious categories.”
Meanwhile, Chandradev Bhagat, director and producer of The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan, called the recognition for Best Documentary (Series) “truly special,” crediting the players, fans, and the game itself.
Netflix India’s strong presence this year follows its 2024 run, which saw Amar Singh Chamkila, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, The Railway Men, and The Hunt For Veerappan secure nominations.
The AACA Gala Finals will be held in Singapore this December, where these acclaimed titles will represent India on an international platform.
