Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s ‘ action-drama ‘They Call Him OG’ received a positive response at the box office. Actor Chiranjeevi praised his brother’s film and termed it as being “on par with Hollywood standards.”

On Tuesday, Chiranjeevi shared his thoughts on ‘They Call Him OG’ in his X review. He captioned, “Watched #TheyCallHimOG with my whole family and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. A brilliantly made underworld gangster film on par with Hollywood standards, while keeping the right emotions intact. From beginning to end, the director conceived the film in an extraordinary way. Congratulations to @sujeethsign (sic).”

While praising Pawan Kalyan’s performance, the ‘Bhola Shankar’ (2023) actor further wrote, “Felt so proud watching Kalyan Babu on screen. He made the film stand out with his swag and gave the fans the proper feast they’ve been waiting for. @MusicThaman poured his heart and soul into the music, @dop007 delivered excellent visuals, and the editing and artwork were super. Every single member of the team gave their all and delivered the best. Congratulations to Producer Danayya and the whole team (sic).”

The film centres on Pawan Kalyan’s character, Ojas Gambheera (OG), a feared and powerful gangster who vanishes from Mumbai’s underworld. He resurfaces a decade later to reclaim his dominance and confront a rival crime lord. The film also marks Emraan Hashmi’s Telugu debut as the antagonist, Omi Bhau, who took control during OG’s absence. The cast is rounded out by Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj in key supporting roles.

‘They Call Him OG’ has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark globally. The Sujeeth directorial also features actors Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy and others in key roles. DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari have co-produced the film.
