Six Pakistani army personnel were killed in separate attacks in Kalat and Turbat, according to a statement released by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). The armed group, which has been active in Balochistan for years, said its fighters targeted military positions using modern and automatic weapons.
Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attacks. “Baloch Liberation Army freedom fighters targeted enemy Pakistani army in two separate attacks in Kalat and Turbat,” the statement read.
The BLA said its fighters struck in the Zawah area of Kalat, forcing the troops to retreat after facing severe losses. A separate attack was carried out at an army outpost in the Absar area of Turbat using grenades, which the group claimed caused casualties and property damage.
BLA TARGETS PAK MILITARY AND INTELLIGENCE OPERATIVES
The BLA has previously claimed responsibility for a series of operations against Pakistani security forces and alleged intelligence operatives across the province. In an earlier statement, the group said it carried out seven separate actions, including sniper fire, grenade attacks, and the destruction of infrastructure.
According to the statement, a sniper eliminated a Pakistani army soldier in Zamuran’s Tanak area, while another operation brought down a military drone. On September 21, the group reported detaining a policeman near Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Quetta, seizing his weapons before releasing him. The same night, a gas pipeline at Kambari Pul in Dhadar was destroyed with explosives.
The BLA has intensified its campaign against Pakistani military and paramilitary forces in recent months, often framing its actions as retaliation against aggression in Balochistan.
