First, Christian Bale and Sibi Blažić have been married since 2000. The duo reportedly met while she was Winona Ryder’s assistant on films like Girl, Interrupted and Lost Souls. Since then, she’s become a stunt performer who has worked on Christian’s films, The Dark Knight Rises and Ford v Ferrari. In 2014, Christian told the Wall Street Journal, “My wife was a stunt driver; she was chasing me through the city in Batman. She was driving one of the cop cars. She can do 180s and stunts and all that. She terrifies me. My wife terrifies me.”

Maya Rudolph has been with director/writer Paul Thomas Anderson since 2001, when they met at a Saturday Night Live afterparty. Paul is best known for directing Boogie Nights, Phantom Thread, Licorice Pizza, One Battle After Another, and more. “He said he saw me in a sketch and said, ‘That’s the girl I’m going to marry.’ But I don’t know. I wasn’t there. Maybe he just told me that to be sweet,” Maya said in an interview with Town & Country.

Julie Andrews married director/writer Blake Edwards in 1969, after they first met in the parking lot of a therapist’s office. Blake is probably best known for directing Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Pink Panther, and more. They continued to run into each other while driving on Sunset Boulevard in LA, with Blake calling it “wonderfully Hollywood.” In an interview in 2015, Julie said, “We would stop in the middle lane on Sunset waiting for traffic and then go on. I kept looking over, two or three mornings a week…eventually I said ‘hi.'” They were married until his death in 2010.

Tony Goldwyn and production designer Jane Musky have been married since 1987, after they met while working at a summer theater camp when Tony’s friend initially had a crush on her. Jane is best known for being the designer on When Harry Met Sally…, Raising Arizona, Glengarry Glen Ross, and more. In an interview with The Tonight Show in 2024, Tony revealed how Jane was actually the one who helped him get his breakout role as Carl Bruner in Ghost, a movie that she was doing the production design for.

Daniel Day-Lewis met Rebecca Miller in 1995 when he was invited to her home to meet her father, famed playwright Arthur Miller, before Daniel was set to star in the film adaptation of The Crucible. They got married a year later. Rebecca is a director who is best known for Maggie’s Plan, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, and the upcoming Mr. Scorsese documentary. In a 2008 interview, Daniel spoke about their relationship (and parenting their sons together), saying, “We agree entirely about how to raise our children, and we enjoy each other’s company.”

Jane is a writer and has become a frequent collaborator with Lily, having written several of her specials, including The Lily Tomlin Show. Initially, Lily reached out to see if she could meet Jane in 1971 after watching J.T., a TV movie Jane wrote. “A friend brought her to my hotel room, and I tell you, in two minutes, I fell in love with her. She had on hot pants, stretchy boots that went up to her knee, and a little backpack. I don’t know what it was, but I was in love,” Lily told Variety in 2020.

Rob Lowe first met makeup artist Sheryl Berkoff in 1983 after they were set up on a blind date; however, they didn’t start dating until 1989 when they worked on Bad Influence together. They got married in 1991. In an Entertainment Tonight interview in 2021, Rob credited Sheryl for helping him overcome addiction, saying, “Listen, she may have saved my life, really. I mean, she met me when I was at the end of my ’80s run of wild boy craziness, and she was worth changing my life for.”

Ke Huy Quan met his wife, Echo Quan, in 2004 when they were both on the set of Wong Kar-wai’s 2046 in Hong Kong. At the time, Ke Huy was a first assistant director, and Echo worked as a translator. For Everything Everywhere All At Once, a film that marked Ke Huy’s return to acting and earned him an Oscar, Echo was the on-set translator on the film, too.

Catherine O’Hara met her husband, Bo Welch, on the set of Beetlejuice in 1988. Catherine played Delia Deetz, while Bo was the production designer. In an interview with Uproxx, Bo recalled that director Tim Burton suggested he ask Catherine out while working on the movie, saying, “Towards the end of the movie, Tim told me, we were shooting in Vermont, ‘You should ask Catherine out.’ And I said, ‘What?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, you should ask her out.’ It didn’t even occur to me that I was even supposed to talk to actors. But since Tim told me to, I did, and then we dated, and we’re married, and here we are today.”

David is best known for his work on shows like Ally McBeal, The Practice, Big Little Lies, Nine Perfect Strangers, and more. I asked the designers if I could be at his fitting, even though I didn’t need to be there.” At the time, John was in another relationship, but in 1996 after his divorce, he called Justine to hang out.

Recalling their early days of dating, Riley told USA Today, “Two weeks into dating him, we were at a gas station, and I was like, ‘I could see myself having kids with this person.’ It was kind of like I knew I was meeting my husband. It was very cool.”

His most recent movies were actually Downton Abbey: A New Era and Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, where he got to direct Elizabeth, who plays Lady Cora Crawley. Speaking about Simon directing the final Downton film, Elizabeth told Tatler, “Simon had the status to make everyone feel reassured. It sounds like I’m just promoting him because he’s my husband, but he’d lived with the series for so long and worked with most of the actors before, so he was perfect for the job.”

In 1991, Ann sadly died of breast cancer, which is when Rick decided to step away from acting to raise their two kids. He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2015, “Stuff happens to people all the time, and people make adjustments, change careers, move to another city. Really, that’s all I did.”

They first met on a film set in 2013, but reconnected at a friend’s birthday party six years later. In an interview on The Howard Stern Show in 2019, Kristen recalled her first impression of Dylan, saying, “Where have you been and why have I not known you?”
