Selena Gomez’s mom, Mandy Teefey, confirmed that the actress was walked down the aisle by her grandfather David Cornett.
“What a perfect celebration for the most kick ass couple I know!” the businesswoman wrote via Instagram Sunday, alongside a wedding day photo of the “Only Murders in the Building” star and her husband, Benny Blanco.
“The evening couldn’t have been more beautiful and perfect! Absolutely flawless! All my love to my beautiful daughter @selenagomez and to the greatest son in law @itsbennyblanco!!!”
“It was a fairytale come true and it was beyond heartwarming watching my father walk her down the aisle!!! XO,” Teefey, 49, concluded the heartfelt post.
While Teefey limited the comments on the post, several fans questioned why her ex-husband — Selena’s father, Ricardo Joel Gomez — didn’t give the singer away.
“Why didn’t her father do it,” one person questioned, as another chimed in, “Why not her own dad 😢😢😢😢.”
Reps for Selena were not immediately available to return Page Six’s requests for comment.
Selena, 33, has vaguely opened up about her relationship with her father. In 2022, she told Rolling Stone that he “didn’t want to be a part” of her life as an actress.
“So it was really me and my mom, our journey,” she said.
In 2013, the Disney alum reflected on her childhood with Ricardo, 50, via an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, stating that he would take her to Hooters to watch San Antonio Spurs games when she was 7 years old.
“He started noticing that when I would come, with my little pigtails, all the waitresses would be like, ‘Hey!’ So he ended up half spending time with me but with all those cute girls coming over,” she quipped. “And that kind of became our thing.”
Mandy and Richardo were married from 1992 to 1997, and she later remarried Brian Teefey in 2006.
Selena’s mom shared that the singer’s father her away after the Daily Mail reported that she was “shattered” the actress didn’t pick her.
An insider told the outlet that “David and his wife Debbie broke down in tears of joy when [Selena] asked him.”
“Selena made the decision as soon as they started planning the wedding,” the source said.
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum and Blanco, 37, said “I do” during a star-studded ceremony in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Saturday.
Among the attendees were Taylor Swift, Paul Rudd Martin Short and Steve Martin.
