The former Mumbai zonal director at the NCB, Sameer Wankhede, did not directly respond to questions related to his defamation case against the makers of The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. He addressed the press during a recent drug awareness campaign in Mumbai and, in an interview with the ANI, shared:

“I won’t comment on all this. I’ll just say one thing: Satyamev Jayate.”

The drama series of Aryan Khan made the internet and fans talk about a star who was shown to have a striking personality and resemblance to former NCB officer, Sameer Wankhede. In the viral video, Sameer spoke to the media and shared that in Mumbai, especially in the Northern and Eastern areas, awareness in the masses about the existence of drugs and the rise of drug consumption is important.

Sameer Wankhede’s defamation plea is against Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix and many more

A camp was organised to talk to the parents, and he shared his happiness discussing the legal provisions. For those who do not know, Wankhede had moved the Delhi High Court with a defamation case and wanted to seek damages for ‘misleading’ and showing anti-drug enforcement agencies in a negative light. Wankhede has also filed the plea against Google LLC, Meta Platforms Inc, RPG Lifestyle Media Pvt Ltd, and John Does, and the plea reads:

“This series disseminates a misleading and negative portrayal of anti-drug enforcement agencies, thereby eroding public confidence in law enforcement institutions.”

Delhi High Court observes Sameer Wankhede’s defamation suit as ‘not maintainable’

Wankhede wants an award of Rs. 2 crore and wants it to be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, all for the treatment of cancer patients. The Delhi High Court did question the maintainability of the defamation suit as Justice Purushaindra Kaurav shared:

“Your plaint is not maintainable. I am rejecting your plaint. Had your case been that you were defamed at various places, including Delhi, and that maximum damage occurred here, we would have still considered it.”

Sameer Wankhede alleged The Ba***ds of Bollywood have shown the anti-drug enforcement agencies in a bad light

For those who do not know, Sameer had arrested Aryan back in 2021 in a cruise drug case. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s son was given a clean chit. Sameer did not spare SRK, his wife, Gauri Khan and their Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, which the power couple owns. Wankhede wanted relief from the damages that were done by Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd production house. The suit was also filed against Netflix and Sameer shares that a video related to him was falsely, maliciously defamed him in Aryan’s The Ba***ds of Bollywood.

Sameer Wankhede shared that the Ba***ds of Bollywood series shows a negative and misleading portrayal of the anti-drug enforcement agencies and thus brainwashing and ending public confidence, especially in law enforcement institutions. He also alleged that the series was created to deliberately tarnish his reputation in a prejudiced manner.
