Ayo Edebiri turned a Saturday walk in New York into a study in contrasts, stepping out in The Row’s Liisa pumps.
The $1,050 heels come in soft black lambskin with a sharply pointed toe and a thin stiletto. An elastic trim runs the edge of the shoe, pulling the leather into a faint gather — just enough of a tweak to set them apart from the standard black court.

She wore them with The Row’s spring 2026 lineup: an oversized white T-shirt, slouchy black basketball shorts traced in white and a sweater tied loose around her shoulders. The effect was easygoing and athletic until the shoes cut in, giving the outfit a dash of polish. She finished the look with Chanel’s Large Hobo Bag in glossy lambskin and black rectangle shades.
“The Bear” star has a history of picking black pumps with a twist. Back in May, she chose Jude’s dagger-heel stilettos for the “Big Mouth” Season Eight premiere, another shoe that looked simple from afar but revealed sharp detail up close.

The Row itself has been central to footwear conversation this year. Its flip-flops — priced at nearly $1,000 and worn by Jonathan Bailey during his “Jurassic Park” press tour before showing up on Lori Harvey and Kendall Jenner — became one of summer’s most debated shoes. The Liisa pump offers a counterpoint: a conventional form adjusted through material and trim, rather than silhouette overhaul.
By putting them against basketball-style shorts, Edebiri showed how the label’s footwear can live outside the showroom. It’s the same play she’s been running on red carpets too — taking a form everyone knows and finding the smallest way to make it her own.
