It’s obviously a BIG deal – people have even called it the “equivalent of a Hollywood royal wedding” — and unfortunately, that means the paparazzi are out in full force trying to get images of Selena’s big day.
One video in particular has gone viral on TikTok, showing a helicopter circling what’s alleged to be the wedding venue in Santa Barbara, California. It was shared by TikTok user @sarahawthorne, who captioned the image, “helicopters surrounding my house for Selena Gomez wedding 😭 help.”
While it’s unclear who was inside the helicopter, TMZ published aerial shots earlier today from what appears to be the same location.
People were, understandably, very frustrated for the couple — and quickly called out the clear invasion of privacy on what should be an incredibly intimate and special day.
“This is actually so sad,” one viewer wrote. Another said, “Imagine wanting a quiet wedding and noisu helicopters fly above you..🥲”
“Yikes. I hope they get some peace but they’ll probably have to do everything inside/covered because of this,” someone said, as another admitted, “I feel so bad For Selena & Benny 💔.”
“How is this shit even legal?!” a Reddit user wrote. “It takes a lot for me to feel bad for a celeb but DAMN. Let a girl have some peace while she marries the love of her life 😭,” said another. “I can guarantee we’ll see pictures if she wants to share them, and that should be her and Benny’s choice.”
“So they’re sound-polluting someone’s special day that they spent god knows how much money to make sure was perfect. Fuck them,” someone else said, as one more added, “Just let Selena and Benny have their day!”
My sentiments exactly — let them have their moment. Tell me what you make of this in the comments.
