Michelle Yeoh Gave Croc-Embossed Shoes the Most Towering Moment Yet in Bottega Veneta Platforms at Milan Fashion Week

Glossy croc textures are everywhere this season, and Michelle Yeoh pushed the look further at Milan Fashion Week in Bottega Veneta’s towering Madame platforms.

The pumps came in black calfskin pressed with a crocodile embossing that amplified the shine across their squared toe and stacked sole. A curved block heel underlined the exaggerated shape, while a gold-toned bar at the vamp cut clean against the dark finish.

Yeoh built the rest of her outfit around Bottega signatures. A ribbed cotton tank and black denim shirt sat under a leather kimono blouson, finished with the white Campana tote. She completed the dark neutrals look with bown sunglasses and large fin earrings from the house.

The “Everything Everywhere All At Once” star’s recent shoe choices show off a deliberate play with materials. In August, she wore Crocs x Simone Rocha’s Siren clogs — crystal and pearl-covered, cut as a platform mule — to the “Ne Zha II” premiere in Los Angeles. Moving from molded resin to croc-embossed calfskin shows how she uses footwear to shift pared-back looks into statement territory.

She’s not alone in that approach, either. Regina King brought out Giuseppe Zanotti’s Intriigo mule in beige croc embossing for “Good Morning America” last month, while Lila Moss debuted one of Demna’s first Gucci boots in the same finish at the label’s spring 2026 show earlier this week. Each instance emphasizes how croc embossing has become a shortcut to impact, whether in a minimal mule, a knee-high boot or Yeoh’s block-heeled platform.

Yeoh’s choice also connected back to the show she was in town to attend. Bottega Veneta’s spring 2026 collection marked Louise Trotter’s debut as creative director, emphasizing texture and heritage craft. “The most beautiful thing about Bottega Veneta is that it’s really a workshop,” she told WWD’s Miles Socha. “Craft has been the way we innovate.”

The Madame pump captured that spirit. Built on exaggerated proportions and textured leather, it reflected both the seasonal appetite for croc embossing and Bottega’s narrative of craft pushed toward modern volume.
