Nordic Knots, Fashion’s Favorite Rug Brand, Launches a Complete Collection of Textiles For the Home

It should come as no surprise that Liza Laserow Berglund is a self-described material nerd. The co-founder of Swedish textile brand Nordic Knots has built a sterling reputation for delivering impeccable quality at an accessible price point. Together with her husband Fabian and his brother Felix, the three launched the company in 2016 and have since amassed a global fanbase for their assortment of rugs—and, more recently, curtains.

Now, nearly a decade after its beginnings, the label marks a new chapter with the introduction of Nordic Knots Home: a collection of textiles for the home. “We felt like it was time for us to build an entire room with what we think are the perfect textiles and the perfect, I would say, ‘uniform’ for a room,” Laserow Berglund tells Vogue over the phone from Stockholm. The new collection centers around the bed, and includes two headboard styles, bed linens, cushions, as well as a selection of throws and bedspreads.

This concept of a room’s uniform is plucked from both her personal spaces and wardrobe. “I always dress our bedrooms in one color,” she says, explaining that this approach creates the best backdrop to then add in layers. “I also only dress in black and white, but then I’ll add something like jewelry or a sweater around the shoulders, and that’s a little bit how I think about the bedroom—unify in one color, and then layer with maybe an accent pillow or nightstands in a certain type of wood, and then you get a really strong personality to come through in the room.”

At the heart of the collection—and the entire brand for that matter—is a dedication to quality. “When I lived in New York, I spent Sundays along Madison Avenue walking into all of the designer stores and feeling the fabrics,” she adds. “I’m super, super sensitive to anything that you need to touch every day.” So much so, in fact, that when the team was developing fabric for their curtains collection, she recalls standing in the mill and rubbing the wool against her cheek. “The Italian guys were just looking at me like, ‘This woman is crazy,’ but that’s how soft it needs to be,” she says, with a laugh.
