Charlie Sheen’s ex, Dolly Fox, has confirmed the “Platoon” star’s recollection in his new memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” that Bill Clinton once tried to steal her away in the ‘80s.
Sheen wrote of a time while filming 1987’s “Three for the Road” with Alan Ruck in Arkansas when the cast visited the governor’s mansion. “I was answering a reporter’s question when Ruck overheard Clinton whisper to one of his aides; ‘Find out what you can about the brunette.’ The brunette was Dolly.”
Fox confirmed the incident to Page Six, and, it turns out, has multiple ties to the Clintons!
She was pals with Miss America 1982, Elizabeth Ward — who alleged she’d had a tryst with Clinton. Fox also told us, “Hillary [Clinton] and my mother [became] very good friends.”
Fox’s late mother, Yolande, was Miss America 1951, and an activist who hosted political events in her Georgetown home, the Newton D. Baker House.
Fox told us her mother was also good friends with Clinton’s mom, Virginia Kelley, and “they would go to the racetrack together.”
Fox’s mom even hosted one of Clinton’s official inaugural parties in Washington, DC, she explained.
“And it gets crazier because Monica Lewinski’s mother was a friend of my mothers!” she said. “You can’t make it up. I have pictures of President Clinton holding my 5-year-old daughter. The whole thing is just such an incestuous funny story,” she said.
She’s never mentioned the incident to Clinton, and hadn’t really thought about it until Sheen published his book.
Back then, “there was no ‘me too’ yet, so I was used to it. I laughed it off,” she said.
Fox is currently producing a play about Dorothy Dandridge.
Sheen writes in the book that he relayed the Clinton story to fellow patients in rehab. “I was still pretty faded on detox meds and no one believed me,” he wrote. “I literally said out loud to the group huddled around the TV, ‘It’s kool, I’ll put it in a book one day and you can all go f–k yourselves.’ (And here we are).”
