Alo is taking its footwear game to the next level with its first-ever sneaker collaboration.

Launching on Oct. 1, Alo is set to release an updated version of its debut footwear style – the Recovery Mode sneaker – with six-time NBA All-Star and Golden State Warriors guard Jimmy Butler.

For Butler, the partnership was a natural evolution of a longstanding friendship with the athletic brand.

“I’m close with the Alo team and I’ve been wearing the Recovery Mode for a while now,” Butler said. “This is my go-to for after a game, when I’m making coffee, playing dominoes, relaxing, just being around my people and my family – all the stuff that I do off court that makes it so that I can go out there and perform on-court. So being able to put my own spin on this shoe, I had fun doing it.”

Summer Nacewicz, executive vice president of creative and marketing at Alo, added that Butler’s approach to both style and performance mirrors so much of what the company embodies.

“Together, we’re redefining recovery by merging high-performance innovation with a modern, fashion-forward aesthetic,” Nacewicz noted. “It’s a bold evolution of our Recovery Mode sneaker, designed for those who live with intention, confidence, and individuality.”

To celebrate the launch of the new collaboration a large-scale mural will be unveiled in San Francisco at 391 Sutter Street, near the Warriors Chase Center home court, on Sept. 25.

There will also be three additional retail events that will take place at the Alo Beverly Hills, Valley Fair, and Miami Design District sanctuaries. Each will feature in-store activations, complimentary BigFace Coffee, and a raffle offering fans the chance to win one of three pairs of Butler’s signed sneakers.

The limited-edition Alo Recovery Mode x Jimmy Butler sneaker will be available exclusively online at Alo.com and at Alo’s Beverly Hills, Valley Fair, and Miami Design District stores on Oct. 1.

First launched in May 2023, Alo’s Recovery Mode sneaker was the brand’s first footwear silhouette and was designed to bridge recovery and style. The sneaker combines a sleek, streetwear look with advanced performance recovery technology for recovery in motion.

One year later, the company debuted the Alo Runner, which launched in Aug. 2024. And earlier this year, Alo dipped its feet into the low-profile footwear trend with the launch of the Sunset sneaker in July.
