Late Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia, spoke about her late husband for the first time post his funeral
Late Zubeen’s wife, Garima, shared details of his last and upcoming movie, Roi Roi Binale, which the makers are planning to release on October 31, 2025. Now, Garima did open up about the unfinished work of Zubeen and the plans related towards completing his last movie. Garima shared how Zubeen was always passionate about completing Roi Roi Binale. She expressed regret at not being able to complete the voice dubbing because of Zubeen’s untimely demise. Garima shared of a void without Zubeen and noted:
“I regret that his voice dubbing did not happen because he had also acted in this film and in a very different role. He was very excited about it. He would have come as a blind artist. So it’s a purely musical love story. I think people would love it, too. But we couldn’t dub his voice. So that will be a void in the film. But other music and everything was done.”
Garima Saikia reveals that Zubeen Garg’s last film will have no delay in release
Zubeen was a singer who had no airs. A star who knew how to connect his fans with his music as well as words. The singer was fond of trees and would always tell the people of Assam to plant more of the same. Zubeen was a complete people’s man, and for him, Roi Roi Binale meant everything. Garima did share that there would be no delay in the release of the movie and noted:
“We were working on a film, Roi Roi Binaale, which will be his last film. And he was very passionate about it. So he was planning to release it on October 31. So maybe now we have to start working on the film. And keep the date as he thought.”
Late Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia, claimed the late singer passed away due to a seizure attack
The Assam government had conducted a second post-mortem hours before the funeral of Zubeen. This was due to the demand from fans to rule out foul play and ensure transparency. Zubeen was all set to perform at the North East Indi festival before his untimely demise. He was cremated with state honours in Kamrup, Guwahati. Garima had earlier squashed reports of Zubeen passing away in a scuba diving incident and shared of him getting a seizure when he was swimming at the Lazarus Island. Garima did share that Zubeen was accompanied by his associates and was wearing a life jacket when he went for his first swim. Post coming back to the shore, Garima alleged, as per an India Today report, that the singer again went for a second swim and then at 2.30 p.m. he was declared dead at the Singapore General Hospital.
