US President Donald Trump weighed in on the deadly shooting at the ICE Field Office in Dallas, Texas, condemning the attack and placing blame on what he called “Radical Left” rhetoric. Speaking on Truth Social, Trump said the shooter, who killed at least two person and injured others, had written “Anti-ICE” on his shell casings.
“I have been briefed on the deadly shooting at the ICE Field Office in Dallas, Texas. It has now been revealed the deranged shooter wrote ‘Anti-ICE’ on his shell casings. This is despicable!” Trump wrote.
Trump framed the attack as part of a broader pattern of violence against law enforcement, saying that ICE officers are “just trying to do their jobs, and remove the ‘WORST of the WORST’ criminals out of our country, but they are facing an unprecedented increase in threats, violence, and attacks by Deranged Radical Leftists.”
He argued that the violence is fuelled by the rhetoric of Democrats, who, according to him, “constantly demonise law enforcement, calling for ICE to be demolished, and comparing ICE Officers to ‘Nazis.’” He added that continuing attacks from what he called “Radical Left Terrorists” must be stopped, citing recent high-profile incidents of domestic violence.
Trump also announced upcoming measures he claims will combat domestic extremism. “We have already declared ANTIFA a Terrorist Organisation, and I will be signing an Executive Order this week to dismantle these Domestic Terrorism Networks,” he wrote.
The president used the post to call on Democrats to “stop this rhetoric against ICE and America’s law enforcement, right now!” He reiterated his administration’s focus on backing law enforcement, securing borders, deporting violent criminals, and combating what he describes as “Left Wing Domestic Terrorism that is terrorising our country.”
