Meghan King reportedly broke down to police who confronted her for allegedly barging into her ex-husband Jim Edmonds’ home without permission earlier this year.
The “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum became emotional as she walked to her car and told cops that the former MLB star was “incredibly emotionally abusive,” per bodycam footage Us Weekly obtained.
On May 1, Jim’s third wife, Kortnie Edmonds, called police to complain that King had trespassed.
The realtor claimed in a report Page Six previously obtained that the reality star had made arrangements to drop off her step-daughter’s dress. (Jim and King share Aspen, 8, and twins Hart and Hayes, 7.)
However, “Meghan refused to hand Kortnie the dress and ‘pulled away and asked to speak to’ [her daughter],” per the report.
When Kortnie told King, 40, that Jim and Aspen were at a baseball game and not home, the former Bravo star allegedly yelled for her daughter from inside the house and stood a few feet away from the doorway.
King eventually started to leave the premises in her Jeep, but was then confronted by Frontenac Police.
Kortnie had complained to cops that the podcaster had been “to the residence several times throughout the day and was currently on scene causing a disturbance.”
Per the bodycam footage, an officer told King, “I am going to place you in cuffs if you don’t stop.” He then repeated, “Ma’am, I’m going to place you in cuffs if you don’t stop, we are going to detain you.”
King reportedly told police in her defense that Jim, 55, had been using his name and money to “push [her] around” and denied any wrongdoing.
Although Kortnie wanted to “press charges for harassment,” the Frontenac municipal prosecutor reportedly “refused” to pursue charges against King and called the incident a domestic dispute.
A rep for King, meanwhile, has said that the entire incident has been “mischaracterized.”
“Meghan was simply attempting to drop off her daughter’s dress at the request of Jim Edmonds and in coordination regarding their child’s needs,” the spokesperson told Us Weekly earlier this month.
“Meghan briefly called to her daughter from the doorway, never stepped inside, had the door slammed in her face, and calmly left her belongings on the porch. Upon leaving, she was unexpectedly blocked by multiple police vehicles and treated in a way that felt unnecessarily hostile.”
The rep also pointed out how King has had to get restraining orders against Jim in the past because of his alleged abusive behavior — not the other way around.
“It should also be noted that Meghan has had primary responsibility for her children for some time now, with the other side’s involvement limited to select occasions,” the spokesperson added.
King’s rep concluded that the mom of three is one of many women who “face turmoil and untruths, especially when financial resources already create a personal dynamic of an uneven playing field.”
Jim was married to King from 2014 to 2021, but they parted ways following a cheating scandal in 2019. Page Six has reached out to his rep for comment on the latest allegations but has not heard back.
