It was on September 18, 2025, when ABC announced that it would be suspending Jimmy Kimmel. However, not even a week later, the network has made another statement reinstating Jimmy Kimmel’s show after a week-long suspension. According to the statement, the show is set to return on September 23, 2025. However, new reports have revealed that the show will not be aired on all stations.
Jimmy Kimmel Live won’t be aired on all stations
According to a recent report by Fox News, several stations, including Nexstar and Sinclair, will continue to preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live despite the show’s return from suspension. The stations made the decision, believing that the decision did not justify the hurt Jimmy had caused by his statements. Sinclair has announced that it won’t be airing the show in more than 40 ABC affiliates, including Seattle, Washington, D.C., Tacoma, and Portland, among others. In a statement, Nexstar shared:
“We stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve.”
Who will be able to watch Jimmy Kimmel Live?
However, some stations will still air the show. Disney owns and operates the local affiliates in some of the country’s largest markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, which will air the episode. Other local television owners, including Hearst and Grey Media, will also air Jimmy Kimmel Live!
How can you stream Jimmy Kimmel Live if your station is not airing the show?
Fans had been excited about the return of Jimmy Kimmel Live. However, the news about Nexstar and Sinclair not airing the show left them disappointed. Nonetheless, there is no need to worry as Tuesday’s episode will be available to stream on DirecTV, Fubo, Hulu Live and YouTube TV. So, if Nexstar or Sinclair is your local provider, the alternative broadcast could still be what appears on screen. The episode will also be available on Wednesday on Hulu as well as on Disney+. The show also has a YouTube channel, where clips, including Jimmy’s opening monologue, are often posted after each episode airs.

What led to Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension?
Jimmy Kimmel’s night show on September 15, 2025, was centred around the tragic shooting of Charlie Kirk. All was going well, but during his monologue, he accused the ‘MAGA gang’ of exploiting the tragic death for political gains. Jimmy further mocked the national response to the incident, particularly criticising the act of lowering flags to half-mast in Charlie’s honour. He called the response immature and compared it to that of a child who had just lost their pet. He was quoted as saying:
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterise this kid (Robinson) who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it.”
