Friday, September 26, 2025, looks interesting as a new batch of OTT releases is set to be released. The list includes films that have had theatrical releases, are now available on OTT platforms, or will be released on the same platforms. There have been varied OTT platforms that have a lineup of exciting releases, which will make anyone’s weekend exciting. There is Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur’s Son Of Sardaar 2, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s Dhadak 2 and many more movies and web shows that will create a storm on the OTT giants.
Son of Sardaar 2 will release on Netflix
Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur’s Son of Sardaar 2 will take forward the story of ‘Jassi Singh Randhawa’ who is seen going to Scotland to patch up with his wife, Dimple. However, ‘Jassi’ is seen getting into a mob-like fight and is in a messy Sikh wedding where a pair needs help to get approval from their families for their wedding. The movie has been directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and the movie is sequel to Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sanjay Dutt’s Son Of Sardaar. However, this time, instead of him being in Punjab, Ajay is in Scotland. The movie, which had a theatrical release, received mixed views and minted Rs. 60 crore at the box office collection.
Dhadak 2 will release on Netflix
Dhadak 2, on the flip side, is different from the genre of comedy and is a remake of the Tamil movie, Pariyerum Perumal, which was released in 2018. The movie is a heartbreaking tale of India’s caste system, and a love story between Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri is shown. Siddhant plays ‘Neelesh’, a law student from the Dalit community, and Triptii plays ‘Vidhi’, a girl from the upper caste. The movie focuses on themes related to the value of disobedience, identity, and the struggle against deep-seated societal norms. Shazia Iqbal, the director, has received a lot of positive responses for the movie, which serves as a spiritual sequel to the film, Dhadak, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in pivotal roles. Dhadak was a sequel to the movie, Sairat and on the other side, Tripti and Siddhant were praised for their strong characters. However, the film could not get the audience to the theatres.
Janaawar – The Beast Within releases on Zee 5
Janaawar – The Beast Within is an intense crime drama series related to ‘Inspector Hemant Kumar’. He is a tribal officer who is investigating a case of a headless man, a missing person, and gold back in his rural home in Chhand. The cast of the film also includes Bhagwan Tiwari and Atul Kale. The layered crime thriller illustrates the clash between ancient hierarchies and corruption and crime. Bhuvan’s role is a breakthrough as the series shows how one can have courage, survive and also create an identity during the crisis.
Dangerous Animals will release on Lionsgate Play – OTTplay Premium
Dangerous Animals is a psychological thriller related to a shark-obsessed serial killer named ‘Tuckerr’, played by Jai Courtney. He is seen kidnapping an American surfer called ‘Zephyr’ played by Hassie Harrison, all for his shark feeding ritual. The movie shows how a brutal shark attack takes place, and the struggle for survival.
Hridayapoorvam to release on JioHotstar OTT Play Premium
Hridayapoorvam is a Malayalam movie related to ‘Sandeep’ a.k.a Mohanlal, who is a heart transplant recipient. He is seen travelling to Pune to go to the engagement ceremony of his heart donor’s daughter, called ‘Harithal’ a.k.a Malavika Mohanan. The movie showcases themes related to giving second chances, developing connections and healing via emotional moments and also humour.
Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira to release on Netflix
The Malayalam romantic comedy movie is about the story of a groom who is determined, as he comes across a reclusive lady who takes him on a journey of self-help as well as healing. The movie also has Fahadh Faasil, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Vinay Forrt.
