When Pallavi asked if he had ever taken the hot seat himself, Big B smiled and said he had, but only once, when Jaya Bachchan stepped in to host. Recalling the incident fondly, Amitabh said the experience left him unusually nervous. Adding his trademark humor, he admitted that sitting across from one’s wife can be enough to leave any man tongue-tied. “Humari bolti he band thi, aise aise chaanta maara unhone humko (I was left speechless; she roasted me thoroughly),” he laughed.
This isn’t the first time Jaya Bachchan has playfully pulled his leg on KBC. Back in season 14, she appeared on the show with their son Abhishek Bachchan to celebrate Amitabh’s 80th birthday. During the special episode, Jaya had teasingly asked him, “Aapko zindagi mein sabse accha kya lagta hai?” (What do you like the most in life?). To this, Amitabh, with his classic wit, had responded, “Ab yeh show sarvajanik ho raha hai, yeh galat baat hogyi hai” (Now this show is becoming public, that’s not fair). His cheeky reply had left the audience in splits.

The couple, who first worked together in films like Guddi (1971) and later delivered classics such as Abhimaan, Chupke Chupke and Sholay, have shared a partnership spanning more than five decades.
