Shah Rukh Khan and his family are on cloud nine as he received the Best Actor Award at the 71st National Film Awards for his role in Jawan, 2023. It has been a historic milestone in King Khan’s career, and the wait came to an end after 30 years. SRK got his first-ever National Award, and his daughter, Suhana, felt the proudest and celebrated her papa’s win in the most beautiful way.

SRK got the National Award from the hands of the President of India, Draupadi Murmu. The ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi, on September 23, 2025. Suhana had taken to her Instagram handle a while ago to share a touching note where she shared a snap of the actor donning the silver medal. For the ceremony, SRK had worn a black hued bandhgala and his daughter, Suhana, posted two pictures where he was seen flaunting his medal. Sharing a touching note for her papa, Suhana wrote:
“You always said you never win the silver, only lose the gold but This Silver is Gold… Our hearts are so happy seeing you receive the prestigious National Award. Congratulations Papa we love you.”

Love you all”. For the unversed, the National Film Award is India’s highest film honours and Shah Rukh receiving the same marked a big milestone in his career. The ceremony held in Vigyan Bhavan was attended by a diverse group of dignitaries. Gauri, SRK’s wife, had a quirky way of wishing King Khan and revealed designing a special shelf to keep the award. Sharing pictures of King Khan with the award, SRK wrote:
“What a journey it’s been @iamsrk. Congratulations on winning the National Award!!! So deserving… it’s a result of your years of hardwork and dedication. Now I’m designing a special mantle for this award.”

It was an honour for her to see President Droupadi Murmu presenting the prestigious National Award to the winners. Gauri, giving a shoutout to her favourites, wrote:

His top performances include Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Devdas, My Name Is Khan, Swades, and Chak De! India, to name a few.
