JO1 Members Visit A.R. Rahman’s Studio in Mumbai
During their trip, Mame and Shosei visited the studio of legendary Indian music composer A.R. Rahman, sparking excitement among fans about a possible cross-cultural collaboration. Rahman posted a photo of the meeting on Instagram, writing, “This picture screams cultural fusion at its finest!” He added that the meeting is “certainly a collaboration we can all look forward to.” When asked about working with Indian artists in the future, Mame and Shosei were enthusiastic. “Why not? Of course,” they replied, showing genuine interest in exploring collaborations in India.
Bollywood Dance and Favourite Indian Songs
The duo also shared their love for Bollywood, especially its energetic dance numbers. Mame revealed that their favourite Bollywood dance is from ‘Hud Hud Dabangg’. “It was fun using the belt and dancing. It’s going to be on our Instagram — please check it out!” he said with a smile. Shosei added that acting is also on their radar. “Definitely, of course. We’ll keep training to be ready for a role,” he shared, expressing interest in Indian cinema. Another Indian song that made an impression on them is ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film RRR. “It was really famous in Japan too,” said Shosei. “Indian music has so much passion and energy — we’d love to bring that kind of vibe into our own songs in the future.”

We hope to create a sound that blends energy and emotion — something we call ‘JO1-POP’ — music that moves your heart and your body.”
