ART WITH ALTITUDE: Renowned ’70s skiwear brand Elho, which has a history of eye-catching styles for the slopes and après-ski, has conscripted André Saraiva to tag its performance jackets with his signature character, Mr. A.

The limited-edition capsule collection, dropping Oct. 2, also includes hoodies, long-sleeve shirts, T-shirts and beanies, all featuring characters and colors from the Swedish French artist’s world.

“I’ve always liked his stuff, it’s so iconic,” said Berlin-based art director Donald Schneider, who revived Elho last year and is keeping up its reputation for punchy, mold-breaking skiwear.

He and Saraiva, who go way back to Schneider’s Vogue Paris days, settled on ice pink and black as the key colors, a new “drip” version of the toothy Mr. A character, and branding in Saraiva’s unmistakable hand.

Schneider’s first art collaboration for Elho, in 2024, was with the estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat, which won the brand a lot of attention, and he expects the one with Saraiva to help attract more young and rebellious types to the Swiss name.

As “re-founder” and executive chairman of Zurich-based Elho, Schneider conscripted Swiss freestyle ski champion Andri Ragettli as his first ambassador, and he’s crossing fingers that Raggetli will be twisting in the air wearing Elho during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

Elho recently added freestyle prodigy Zoë van Essen, 17, to its roster. She is currently training in New Zealand.

Meanwhile, celebrities who have been spotted in Elho off the slopes include fashion designer Jeremy Scott, DJ Charlotte de Witte, rapper Ski Aggu and hockey player Nino Niederreiter.

The revamped Elho launched in October 2024 with a dedicated web store, and is also sold in about 15 wholesale doors in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

The André x Elho capsule is part of the winter 2025-26 collection, whose novelties include a down version of Elho’s bomber jacket, anointed the Astro and boasting 90 percent recycled down and a high-quality ripstop fabric.
