As the festival of Navratri begins, actor Isha Koppikar has shared a powerful message aimed at inspiring reflection and change. Known for her strong views on women’s empowerment, Isha used the occasion to call for action—not just celebration.
“Don’t just worship the goddess – Be her”: Isha Koppikar’s powerful Navratri message
“This Navratri, I’m not just celebrating the goddess—I’m encouraging all of us to become her,” she said. “We need to stop staying silent when other women are speaking up. If you’re not part of the voice, you’re part of the silence—and part of the problem.”
Isha emphasized that real change starts at home. “What we teach—or don’t teach—our children about respect and equality will shape the next generation. Let’s focus on raising better human beings,” she added.
Over the years, Isha has built a reputation for speaking out about social issues, particularly when it comes to gender. This time, she urged women to support one another. “Be a girl’s girl. Support, don’t sabotage,” she said. “We’ve been conditioned to compete with each other, when what we need is to lift each other up.” She also encouraged women to stop seeking external validation and instead embrace self-worth. “Don’t wait for approval. Celebrate yourself—loudly and proudly,” she shared.
Touching on cultural and generational conditioning, Isha encouraged her audience to question outdated beliefs. “Break the cycle—whether it’s societal or inherited. Just because it’s always been that way doesn’t mean it should stay that way.”
In her closing thoughts, Isha urged women to take confident, bold steps in their everyday lives. “Take a stand. Don’t let pressure shake your confidence or values. If you don’t speak up for yourself or another woman, who will?” She ended with a strong reminder about the ongoing fight for women’s freedom and rights. “Freedom wasn’t handed to us—we’ve had to fight for it, and in many ways, we still are. The more informed we are, the harder we are to silence.” As Navratri 2025 unfolds, Isha’s message serves as a timely reminder: the goddess isn’t just to be worshipped—she’s meant to be lived.
