It’s the most wonderful time of the year… almost. While there’s still a few months left until December and all of its accompanying revelries, Anthropologie wants you to start the celebrations early — or at least prepare for them in the most aesthetic way possible. For this year’s holiday season, the brand teamed up with the New York City Ballet on an exclusive homeware collection infused with the spirit, charm, and whimsy of “The Nutcracker,” meaning those who’ve always wanted to dress up their home with Sugarplum Fairy and Mouse King motifs now have a very real opportunity to do so.

“The New York City Ballet is synonymous with artistry, imagination, and tradition, all qualities that resonate deeply with Anthropologie. For us, the partnership felt like a natural extension of our mission: to inspire moments of wonder and creativity in our customers’ everyday lives,” Katherine Finder, chief merchandising officer at Anthropologie Home, tells WWD. “Just as the ballet brings joy and beauty to the holiday season, we want our collections to spark a sense of magic at home.”

You’ll find no shortage of practical delights amidst Anthropologie Home’s New York City Ballet collection — from stoneware cereal bowls and tree-shaped bottle openers to stocking holders and marble cake stands.

The magic here can be found in selections ranging from the Tree Skirt, inspired by the delicate yet eye-catching nature of the Sugarplum Fairy’s own tutu, to the Nutcracker Bar Tools Set, which will make your hosting duties even more fun with its crown-topped, gilded handles. For those looking to toast to good times in an ever-so-elegant way, the Coupe Glasses Set comes in handy: crafted out of etched crystalline glass with pleasing-on-the-eyes, gradient color transitions. And in case all you’re after for the latter half of 2025 is more coziness, the new Anthropologie Home collection also features a Cotton Knit Icon Throw Blanket with vibrant tree-and-star symbolism, plus a limited-edition candle marked by the scent combination of fresh balsam and cedarwood, mixed in with the crispness of white cranberry and the richness of, fittingly, sugared plums.

Finder is quick to recommend a few standouts among all the glam yet playful offerings: “It’s hard to choose, but I’m especially drawn to the intricate ornaments. Each one feels like a miniature work of art — sophisticated and filled with storytelling. They capture the essence of ‘The Nutcracker’ in such an intimate way, and I love the idea of families collecting them over time as part of their holiday traditions.”

More to add to your pre-holiday shopping list: pillows with highly detailed embroidery, the New York City Ballet: Choreography & Couture coffee table book, Anthropologie x New York City Ballet’s collaboration candle, the most darling tree skirt you’ll ever own, and beyond.

Feeling inspired? Add to cart one of the Glass Snowglobe Ornaments, housing miniature scenes of sleigh rides, graceful ballerinas, and the production’s famous battle scene, but don’t overlook the Ballerina Ornament either: a brass, crystal, and pearl beauty that will make your Tannenbaum look absolutely ethereal.

“The gilded touches, painterly strokes, heirloom-quality finishes, and thoughtful textures are all intentional nods to the grandeur of the ballet,” Finder says of the collection’s design through line. “What really sets it apart is the way each piece tells a story, inviting customers to bring a bit of the stage’s magic into their homes.”

Indeed, while you might not be planning on sitting front row at a New York City Ballet performance anytime soon, indulging in the timeless artistry of this renowned dance company — with its iconic, George Balanchine–choreographed “The Nutcracker,” set to the tune of Tchaikovsky’s intricate melodies — is made possible. Because fairy tales do come true, at least when you’re living in Anthropologie’s world.
