Amid the lush greenery in the Barbican conservatory hung two inflated transparent spheres during the Susan Fang spring 2026 show.

The designer said that’s where people live in a future utopia some 3,000 years from now, where nature and technology coexist in harmony.

Imaginative and dream-like as always, Fang’s show was a full-on cinematic experience, starting with dancer Kay Collings performing a choreography involving a spaceship-like inflated bubble. Then, as nonchalant steel pan music kicked in, Fang unveiled her latest experiment with technology, and traditional craft.

Her husband Orelio De Jonghe, a former Dyson engineer who now spearheads the brand’s accessories and footwear offerings, employed computer simulation to “grow” 3D-printed fungi and coral-inspired handbags, glasses and a striking purple dress.

On the more traditional front, Fang introduced a beaded smocking technique that creates sparkly diamond patterns seen on sheer dresses, tops and bags. She also played with “air-puzzle,” a process that creates 3D patchworks used in the construction of voluminous gowns.

The newly wedded couple also showcased a slew of beautiful bridal looks, and debuted three footwear collaborations: with Nike on two sneaker styles and an apparel capsule, with Melissa on sporty rubber ballerinas in green, pink and blue, and with Korean-owned British label Rockfish on a range of fluffy boots.
