Princess Charlene of Monaco wore a sleek, long-sleeve white gown to the Ballon d’Or on Monday in Paris to present the prestigious Socrates Award during the ceremony. Her crisp white, floor-length dress featured a boat neckline with a column skirt and subtle flowing elements to give the piece some movement. The shoulders of the gown included a slightly puffed feature to accentuate the silhouette.

The ethereal white dress included a slight cinched waist to add a dynamic element to the silhouette. As for accessories, the royal wore swirl cluster diamond earrings to add a touch of sparkle to her ensemble. Glam for Princess Charlene featured the royal’s blond hair mostly pulled back, save for a few strands to frame her face. Her makeup added a pop of color thanks to a red lip.

Along with Princess Charlene’s high-fashion frock, the Ballon d’Or holds a close tie to one of Paris’ luxury fashion houses. Louis Vuitton provided the trophy trunk for the occasion, designed with the French luxury fashion house’s renowned logo.

Princess Charlene herself is an ardent admirer of Louis Vuitton’s designs. At the closing ceremony of the Monte-Carlo TV Festival in June, the royal wore a Cinderella-blue gown, with a dramatic off-the-shoulder silhouette and a high neckline. Such details gave the dress a contemporary look and feel.

Louis Vuitton is also a designer the royal frequently wears for the Monaco Grand Prix. In 2024, Princess Charlene styled a custom jumpsuit by the French luxury fashion house, demonstrating just how versatile Louis Vuitton’s designs can be. 

The Ballon d’Or is one of football’s most prestigious events, honoring the best individual players, teams, coaches and performances from the past season across various categories. Besides the men’s and women’s Ballon d’Or, the ceremony also includes awards for categories such as the Kopa Trophy (best young player), Yashin Trophy (best goalkeeper), Gerd Müller Award (top scorer), and club awards.
