Polish-born German actress and model Claudia Ciesla, who has featured in films like Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 and appeared as a contestant on Bigg Boss season 3, has credited her Bollywood debut with superstar Akshay Kumar for shaping her career. The actress revealed that her entry into mainstream cinema with the song ‘Balma’ in Khiladi 786 gave her a solid foundation in the industry and left her with invaluable lessons.
Claudia Ciesla calls Akshay Kumar her biggest teacher: “Working with him was like attending a masterclass”
Claudia recalled how working with Akshay Kumar left a lasting impression on her. She said, “Every project I’ve been part of has shaped me in some way, but two stand out very strongly. My entry into mainstream Bollywood with the song ‘Balma’ in Khiladi 786 alongside Akshay Kumar was truly an incredible experience. Working with Akshay sir taught me so much about professionalism, discipline, and humility. He is the definition of punctual—always arriving on time, prepared, and ready to give his best.”
She further added, “What impressed me most was that despite being such a huge star, he is a complete director’s actor. He listens, adapts, and delivers exactly what is needed for the scene, showing a level of dedication that is inspiring for everyone on set. Watching him work so closely was like attending a masterclass, and it set the standard for how I wanted to carry myself in my own career.”
Apart from her Bollywood debut, Claudia also shared how Bigg Boss holds a special place in her journey. She admitted the language barrier was a challenge when she entered the reality show. “At that time, I didn’t know Hindi, which meant I often couldn’t fully understand the many conversations happening in the house. Despite this barrier, I was overwhelmed by the immense love and support I received from the Indian audience—it was truly humbling. That experience opened my eyes to the importance of language as a bridge to connect more deeply with people.”
Determined to overcome the gap, Claudia dedicated herself to learning Hindi after leaving the show. “Once I left the show, I made it my mission to learn Hindi properly. I committed myself to studying two hours every single day, and over time, I became fluent. Today, being able to converse in Hindi allows me to connect with my audience in a much more personal way, and it’s one of the achievements I’m most proud of.”
Looking ahead, Claudia explained that her choice of projects depends on curiosity and depth. “I am always drawn to roles that are layered and multidimensional, where there is room to explore and bring something unique to the performance,” she said. She added that she seeks stories with soul—scripts that entertain while leaving behind a thought, feeling, or message.
“As an actress, I believe our work has the power to move hearts, start conversations, and even influence society, so when a script offers me that chance, it immediately stands out,” Claudia concluded.
