Sebago has teamed up with renowned American yachtsman and 1977 America’s Cup winner Gary Jobson on an updated version of its boat shoe.

The new Portland Gary Jobson is a modern reinterpretation of a classic from the 1980s, updated with improved materials and performance, Sebago noted. The company added that the shoe also pays tribute to the long-standing relationship between Jobson and the brand, which began in 1977 and continued for over two decades. During that time, Sebago dedicated an exclusive line to him.

The all-new Portland Gary Jobson is available in three versions. Two are seen in suede, offering a soft and refined texture, and one in full-grain leather, ideal for those who value durability and a classic look. All versions feature hand-stitched detailing and are set on Sebago’s non-slip rubber sole, enhanced with an exclusive pattern bearing Jobson’s signature.

“Stability on a racing or cruising boat is essential for sailing swiftly and keeping a crew working efficiently,” Jobson told FN. “All boats are in constant motion and often wet creating slippery decks and challenging sailors to stay on board. Over the past 50 years of racing, I’ve relied on Sebago shoes to keep me on board and sailing at a high level. Plus, my Sebago’s always look good around the docks.”

This release comes at the same time the footwear brand has teamed up with artisanal fragrance brand St. Johns on a line of personal care and lifestyle products.

Among the offerings from the new tie-up include fragrances, deodorant, soaps and travel sprays – all available in St. Johns’ signature scents: Bay Rum and Vetiver.

Details of the collab feature a hand-woven 120ml spray bottle using the fronds of the Tyre palm by local Caribbean artisans. Plus, the triple-milled soaps are made exclusively with natural ingredients such as palm oil, coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil and vitamin E.

These collaborations follow Sebago’s release of its second collection with Copenhagen-based men’s brand NN.07 featuring an updated version of the footwear brand’s signature Docksides Portland model.
