However, recently, it has been her health that has been the centre of attention, as the model left everyone concerned after posting a picture from what appears to be a hospital bed.
Was Bella Hadid admitted to hospital due to her battle with Lyme disease?
Bella Hadid has been resting after reportedly experiencing a health scare. Fans missed the model’s presence at the New York Fashion Week, and now she has finally shared the reason behind her absence. Bella took to Instagram on September 17, 2025, and shared a picture of herself from what appeared to be a hospital bed.
In the picture, Bella Hadid was hooked up to IVs, wearing an oxygen mask, and seemingly getting a blood transfusion. The model made a peace sign with her hands for the picture as she lay in bed. She shared the picture with the caption:
“I’m sorry, I always go MIA. I love you guys.”

Bella Hadid’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, shared her well-wishes for her little girl. She also suggested that Bella’s battle with Lyme disease was the cause of her health scare, as she commented ‘Lyme warrior’ on the Instagram post. Bella’s sister, Gigi, also chimed in to share her love for the model. She commented, “I love you! I hope you feel as strong and good as you deserve, soon!!!!!!”

Bella Hadid was diagnosed with Lyme disease over a decade ago. For the unversed, according to the CDC, it is an infection that starts from a tick bite and can progress to serious chronic illness if left untreated. Since her diagnosis, Bella has shared how it has affected her life over the years. In an Instagram post back in 2023, she reflected on her journey with the disease and shared how the ‘little her’ would have been proud of the growth she made because she didn’t give up. She added:
“Living in this state, worsening with time and work while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me, proud, had taken a toll on me in ways I can’t really explain. To be that sad and sick with the most blessings/privilege/opportunity/love around me was quite possibly the most confusing thing ever.”
In the same post, Bella Hadid shared that the universe can work in the most painful and beautiful ways. However, things always get better. She added how one should have faith in their path, even in the most difficult of times, and stated:
“The universe works in the most painful and beautiful ways, but I need to say that if you are struggling, it will get better. I promise. Take a step away, stay strong, have faith in your path, walk in your truth, and the clouds will start to clear up.”
