A video of two choreographers performing an impromptu Bharatanatyam to Bollywood’s iconic track Mere Dholna has mesmerised viewers online.

The clip, shared by Pankaj Pandey on Instagram, shows him and fellow choreographer Prakhyati Srivastava matching steps to the song originally picturised on Vidya Balan and Vineeth in the 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Their performance, blending classical form with effortless grace, did not fail to delight social media users.

In the video, Pankaj, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, and Prakhyati, in a printed blue shirt and black trousers, initially stood by as the audience urged them to dance.

Reacting to the request, the duo broke into Bharatanatyam steps that impressed onlookers. “Impromptu choreography. Just pure vibe,” reads the caption in the video.

More power to you.”

A user quipped, “That formal pant has nice durability.” Another user commented, “I was so engrossed in watching and recording your amazing dance that I didn’t notice someone walked away with my half-eaten plate.”

“Absolutely stunning. Your passion reflects in every step and gesture. The way you complement each other’s steps and expressions is magical. Your performance is a perfect blend of beauty and precision, a true embodiment of classical dance,” one of the users said.

Mere Dholna, sung by Shreya Ghoshal and MG Sreekumar, was composed by Pritam for Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The song is celebrated for its fusion of classical Indian music with haunting intensity and features in the film’s climax, performed by Vidya Balan in a kathak-inspired sequence.
