It was one of the most fascinating nights of the year as the television industry’s big winners were announced at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. As the Peacock Theatre lit up with guests from around the world, it was one of the most eventful nights. Shows like, The Pitt and The Studio were nominated the night with multiple nominations.
Why did Sofia Vergara skip the Emmy 2025 at the last moment
While the event saw some of the most prolific names from the entertainment industry. The Modern Family star, Sofia Vergara, was missing in action. She was supposed to present the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category. However, the actress had to cancel the same at the last moment.
Talking to her IG handle, the actress revealed the reason behind her absence from the awards night. The 53-year-old penned about her ‘craziest’ eye allergy moments before her appearance at the Emmys. She posted pictures of her eye, in which Sofia was seen being uncomfortable with her eye as she was rinsing it. In another picture, the actress was seen lying on a hospital bed, bearing the pain. Penning her apologies for skipping the event, she wrote:
“Didn’t make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye allergy right before getting in the car!”
Who else skipped the Emmy 2025?
Sofia is not the only celebrity who skipped the Emmy 2025. The Bear star, Jeremy Allen White, also missed the event as it was her best friend’s wedding. Actress Bella Ramsey, who was nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for The Last of Us, also couldn’t make it to TV’s biggest night. In place of Sofia, Akerman and Snow presented the Emmy for Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie to Stephen Graham for his role in Netflix’s Adolescence.
Sofia Vergara and Tom Brady’s dating rumours
Sofia Vergara ended her seven-year marriage with the Magic Mike actor, Joe Manganiello, in July 2023, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason. In August 2025, her name was linked to American football player, Tom Brady. The duo was spotted having a cosy dinner date, and since then, rumours of their affair have made it to the headlines.
The alleged couple were later seen hanging out on the Luminara superyacht. However, a picture from one of the gala dinners, where Tom and Sofia were sitting next to each other, ignited their dating buzz. A report by Page Six, where a source disclosed to them that Tom asked someone to switch seats with him, so that he could sit next to the Modern Family actress.
