Taylor Dearden brought the hybrid shoe trend to the Emmy Awards 2025, opting for wedged sneaker heels. “The Pitt” star arrived on the red carpet at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday wearing Brandon Blackwood‘s Paloma Sneaker Heel style.

Dearden, who portrays the character Dr. Melissa “Mel” King in the HBO Max medical drama series about a Pittsburgh trauma center, opted for the Paloma sneaker heel in black. The shoes feature a slingback pump design and have a velcro strap that wraps around the top of the foot.
The uppers are made out of mesh, which gives the shoe a sneaker appeal from up close. The shoe also features a sculpted wedge heel measuring 100mm and a pointed toe with crisscross laces decorating the vamp, as well as leather trimming and details throughout the shoe.

The shoe retails for $120 and are also available in all white. Blackwood also offers the Paloma Heel in a more formal version, which features a sleek, smooth leather upper with a silver buckle on a slim slingback strap.
The actress paired the sneaker wedges with a black, strapless gown with a bustier-style top and a voluminous, full skirt with a hem that reached around her ankles, allowing for a full view of her unique shoes.

Sneaker wedges and sneaker heels are a well-established concept in the footwear industry, but have been having a resurgence as of late, thanks to the hybrid shoe trend that has been taking over. Kathy Bates recently wore Sneex, a sneaker-heel hybrid from Spanx founder Sara Blakely, at the Emmys earlier this year.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday. Leading nominees include “Severance” (27 nods), “The Penguin” (24), and both “The White Lotus” and “The Studio” (23 each).
Dearden’s show “The Pitt” also received 13 nominations this year for its first season, including categories like Best Drama Series and acting awards for Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa. The ceremony celebrates outstanding achievements in television, broadcast on CBS and streamed via Paramount+.
