Charlie Kirk was best known as the late founder of Turning Point USA, but he also built a media platform with a large following. Also recognized for his podcast, “The Charlie Kirk Show,” fans of Kirk — who was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025 — are wondering who will carry the torch with his show. Vice President JD Vance, who was close friends with Kirk, will guest-host an episode of the podcast.

Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident, has been named the primary suspect in Kirk’s murder. His father turned him into the authorities.

Several celebrities, including Donald Trump, paid tribute to Kirk in their own public statements. People from both political sides called for change and sent thoughts and prayers to his family.

The president wrote via Truth Social, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Below, learn what we know so far about the future of Kirk’s platform.

How to Watch ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’

“The Charlie Kirk Show” episodes are available to watch on Rumble, Real America’s Voice and the Salem News Channel.

Is JD Vance the New Host of ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’?

Not necessarily, but the vice president stepped up to honor Kirk by guest-hosting the September 15, 2025, episode at 12:00 p.m. ET, Vance confirmed via X.

“Tomorrow, I will have the honor of hosting the ‘Charlie Kirk Show,’” Vance tweeted. “Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend.”

What Will Happen to ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’?

At the time of publication, there has been no official word on who might carry out “The Charlie Kirk Show” following his death. His wife, Erika Kirk, vowed to continue his legacy with Turning Point USA, though it’s unclear if she will provide updates on the podcast.

“To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die,” she vowed after her late husband died. “It won’t, I refuse to let that happen … All of us will refuse to let that happen. No one will ever forget my husband’s name, and I will make sure of it.”

How Does JD Vance Know Charlie Kirk?

Vance opened up about his and Kirk’s friendship in a tweet after news of the latter’s shooting broke.

“Charlie was one of the first people I called when I thought about running for senate in early 2021,” Vance tweeted. “I was interested but skeptical there was a pathway. We talked through everything, from the strategy to the fundraising to the grassroots of the movement he knew so well. He introduced me to some of the people who would run my campaign and also to Donald Trump Jr. Like his dad, he’s misunderstood. He’s extremely smart, and very much on our wavelength. Don took a call from me because Charlie asked him too.’

The VP also pointed out, “When I became the VP nominee–something Charlie advocated for both in public and private–Charlie was there for me.”
