The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Monday condemned the beheading of Indian national Chandra Nagamalliah in Texas, saying it could have been completely prevented if the Biden administration had not released criminal illegal alien Yordanis Cobos-Martinez.
In a post on X, DHS said the Cuban national, who beheaded Nagamalliah in front of his wife and child at a Texas motel, should never have remained in the United States.
“This vile monster beheaded a man in front of his wife and child and proceeded to kick the victim’s head on the ground. This gruesome, savage slaying was completely preventable,” DHS said.
The department said that Cuba had previously refused to accept Cobos-Martinez, forcing his release under the Biden administration.
“President Trump and Secretary Noem are no longer allowing barbaric criminals to indefinitely remain in America,” the DHS statement read. “If you come to our country illegally, you could end up in CECOT or elsewhere.”

Earlier, Trump said he was aware of the “terrible reports” about the killing of Chandra Nagamalliah, whom he described as a “well-respected person in Dallas.”
In a strongly worded statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump said Nagamallaiah was “brutally beheaded” by an “illegal alien from Cuba who should never have been in our country”.
“This individual was released back into our Homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their country,” Trump said.
The president vowed that Cobos-Martinez, now in custody, will face prosecution for first-degree murder.
“The time for being soft on illegal immigrant criminals is over under my watch,” Trump added.
INDIAN MAN BEHEADED BY CUBAN IN US
The attack took place on Wednesday at the Downtown Suites motel in Dallas where the 50-year-old victim, Chandra Nagamallaiah and Cuban murder accused, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez (37) worked. The two men were involved in an argument about a broken washing.
According to an arrest affidavit released by the Dallas Police on Wednesday evening, Cobos-Martinez was cleaning a room with a female colleague when Nagamallaiah asked him not to use the broken machine.
Cobos-Martinez reportedly got angry with the victim because the latter asked the colleague to “translate what he was saying instead of speaking to him directly”.
“Video shows the suspect then exited the motel room and produced a machete from his person and started cutting and stabbing the complainant multiple times,” the affidavit states.
Despite his family’s attempts to stop the attack, Cobos-Martinez repeatedly struck the victim with a machete until he was decapitated. A video showed the accused picking up the severed head and carrying it to a dumpster. He was arrested as he left the dumpster area, covered in blood.
