Ken Rosenthal, a sportswriter and reporter, has found himself embroiled in a controversy after a video went viral, which supposedly showed his ‘rude’ and ‘classless’ behaviour. A veteran Major League Baseball reporter, Ken, is being called out for not helping out a cameraman. As netizens lambast the reporter, here’s everything to know about Ken Rosenthal.
Ken Rosenthal’s early life and career
Ken Rosenthal was born in Queens, New York on September 19, 1962. However, he grew up in Oyster Bay, Long Island and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. Ken began his career reporting on sports reporter, starting as an intern. Then, after changing two more jobs, Ken became a full-time sports writer and was named Maryland Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. Ken achieved this feat five times, from 1987 to 2000. Ken also won the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Reporter while working with Fox Sports and MLB Network.
Ken Rosenthal’s work with Major League Baseball
Ken Rosenthal joined the official MLB Network as a baseball insider in 2009. However, after working with the network for more than twelve years, Ken tweeted that his association with MLB Network ended in 2022. Ken’s read:

Ken Rosenthal’s recent controversy and ‘rude’ behaviour on live TV
Ken Rosenthal was covering the postgame broadcast of the Milwaukee Brewers v/s St. Louis Cardinals on September 13, 2025, at Busch Stadium, St. Louis. While he was interviewing Brewers shortstop, Andruw Monasterio, a moment from their chat quickly went viral on social media. As is ritualistic for many sports celebrations, Andruw was given a congratulatory ‘Gatorade bath’ by his teammates. In his attempt to get any of the drink on him, Ken moves back immediately and crashes into a cameraman.
Ken Rosenthal’s behaviour after crashing into the cameraman has irked the netizens. As seen in the video, the cameraman falls to the ground after Ken unintentionally pushes him. However, the reporter gives him a look but doesn’t offer to help him. The cameraman is seen sitting on the ground for a few seconds after falling down, and someone else comes to help him up. Netizens have called out Ken for not helping the cameraman and supposedly looking at him with an annoyed expression.

One netizen shared the video on X and penned, “Shoutout to Ken Rosenthal for running over the camera man and then giving him a dirty look as he doesn’t offer to help him up”. Another netizen wrote, “How is this normal human behavior?? If you accidently run into someone and turn around and see the person on their back on the ground you quickly offer them an apology and help them up & maybe laugh with them.. you don’t glare at them like this and walk away.. what the HECK?”
Another commentor also called out Ken’s behaviour and stated, “This kind of thing says a lot about a person”. Meanwhile, a fourth X user revealed, “I’ve come to learn over the past couple years from clips of his podcast, his on field interviews, etc that he is kinda sneaky very full of himself and thinks people watch baseball for him, so this kinda doesn’t surprise me. Trying not to jump to conclusions fully but…lol.”
There has been a storm lashing out at Ken Rosenthal for hir behaviour with the cameraman. Ken is quite active on social media, especially X. However, the reporter has yet to address the viral video and the backlash that followed.
