Ahaan Panday’s Saiyaara has become one of the most talked-about films of the year. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Akshaye Widhani under the YRF banner, the musical romance became one of the best debuts Bollywood has seen for a while now. The worldwide total for Saiyaara concludes at Rs. 570.67 crore gross, making it the second-highest-grossing Bollywood film this year, after Chhaava. The film’s lead pair, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, earned widespread praise for their performances, making the project an instant fan favourite.
Saiyaara is the first YRF film to stream on Netflix
YRF has collaborated with Netflix before on digital projects such as The Romantics, The Railway Men, Maharaj, Vijay 69, and Mandala Murders. However, Saiyaara is the first YRF feature film to premiere on the streaming platform. Traditionally, YRF’s theatrical films were licensed to Amazon Prime Video, but this marks a new expansion of its OTT strategy. The movie’s end credits even feature Netflix branding, cementing the collaboration.
By bringing Saiyaara to Netflix, Yash Raj Films has set a new precedent in the streaming space. The move reflects how even established production houses are adapting to changing audience preferences while maintaining their dominance in the theatrical market. As Saiyaara continues to break records, fans now can relive the emotional love story on the OTT giant.
Storyline and inspirations behind Saiyaara
The film follows the passionate love story of ‘Krish Kapoor’, a rebellious musician, and ‘Vaani’ a quiet, introverted writer. Their romance faces several hurdles, and in an emotional twist, it’s revealed that ‘Vaani’ has Alzheimer’s disease. Some viewers compared the film to the 2004 Korean hit, A Moment to Remember, but despite few similarities, Saiyaara maintains its originality with different narrative choices.

Saiyaara introduced Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda to the Bollywood industry
For both Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, Saiyaara marks a dream debut. The on-screen chemistry between the leads, coupled with Mohit Suri’s signature storytelling style and soulful music, resonated strongly with audiences. The film’s success at the box office and its release on Netflix ensured that the duo’s work reaches an even wider global audience.
