Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Singh Patani is a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Uttar Pradesh Police Force. In his final posting, he served in Bareilly. After retiring, Jagdish calls himself a social worker and focuses on animal husbandry, where he manages a farm that houses buffaloes, cows, dogs, and other animals. Reportedly, Jagdish also considered entering politics. After the recent firing incident, Jagdish Patani had confirmed that 8-10 rounds were fired using foreign-made weapons.
Khushboo Patani is fitness coach after retiring from Indian Army
Khushboo Patani is the elder sister of Disha, who was born in 1991. She pursued engineering from DIT School of Engineering. During college, she faced traumatic things like being stalked, followed by unknown men and more, which became the turning point of her life. Soon, she prepared for SSB exams, cracked it in first attempt and joined the Indian Army as a lieutenant. She served the country with pride and rose till the rank of Major. At the age of 34, she retired from the Indian Army.
According to Khushboo’s Instagram handle, after retirement from the Indian Army, she became a certified fitness coach, spiritual healer and TEDx speaker. Apart from this, she is also an author, counselor and a tarot card reader. As of September 2025, she has 1.6 million followers on her Instagram.

Apart from strong supporters like father, Jagdish Singh and sister, Khushboo Patani, Disha’s mother and younger brother stand like the silent yet powerful supporters of the actress. Reportedly, Disha’s mother, Padma is known to have worked as a health inspector, before giving her entire time to family. Unlike others, she has kept her personal life private. Similarly, Disha’s younger brother, Suryansh has also been private about his life. Multiple outlets have mentioned that Suryansh plays tennis and is interested in anime.
Why were shots fired at Disha Patani’s Bareilly house?
On September 12, 2025, reportedly, two men on a bike opened fire on Disha Patani’s house. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Reportedly, this incident is being linked to comments made by Khushboo Patani. Allegedly, Khushboo criticised spiritual leaders, Aniruddhacharya Maharaj and Premanand Ji Maharaj, which sparked widespread backlash. After the firing, her father, Jagdish Patani came in support of her and mentioned that her statements are being misinterpreted. He added that people are trying to demean his family.
