Entrepreneur and former Shark Tank India judge Ashneer Grover is once again in the spotlight, this time for remarks that appear to be a veiled jab at Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. While promoting his reality show Rise And Fall, which he is hosting on Amazon MX Player, Grover reflected on the nature of Indian reality television and the balance of attention between hosts and contestants.

Speaking to News18’s Showsha, Grover said, “Reality shows have to be about contestants. Fortunately, or unfortunately, in India, we have had a very big show which has had a very big superstar. And therefore, it’s become more about him than the contestants, right? But the fact is, who is putting in the hours? Bhai, aap to ek weekend mein aa rahe ho. Jo 24 ghante lage hain, woh to contestant lage hue hain. The balance of power has to go back to the contestants and the content that comes out of the contestants. Rather than it being hijacked by someone you know who comes over weekend.”
Though Grover did not name Salman Khan directly, his remarks are being widely interpreted as a comment on Bigg Boss, one of India’s most popular reality shows, which has been synonymous with Khan for over a decade.

The statement comes just months after Grover’s heated on-air confrontation with Salman Khan during Bigg Boss 18. The clash, which stemmed from Grover’s past claims about negotiating Khan’s endorsement fee for BharatPe in 2019, became a trending topic after Khan accused him of exaggerating facts. Two months later, Grover addressed the controversy at a student event, suggesting that Khan deliberately provoked him for drama.
