Erika Frantzve is now left to pick up the pieces after the sudden tragedy. She is a former Miss Arizona USA (2012), an entrepreneur, and a devoted Christian. Erika married Charlie in May 2021. It all happened on the afternoon of September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University, where Charlie was hosting a live Q&A session. It was a part of his ‘American Comeback’ tour. Out of the blue, witnesses heard a single gunshot, fired from a nearby building. The bullet immediately struck Charlie, who was rushed for immediate medical attention. But shortly, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The suspect, who is being described as an elderly man, was detained at the scene, and the FBI has since taken over the investigation. Former President Donald Trump, a longtime ally of Kirk, reacted on Truth Social, writing:
“We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” Vice President J.D. Vance also expressed his heartbreak, saying, “Dear God, protect Charlie in his darkest hour.”
