Sunjay Kapur’s demise in June 2025 caused a stir. Sunjay was playing polo when he reportedly swallowed a bee, which caused an allergic reaction in his body and ultimately led to his heart attack. After months of Sunjay Kapur’s demise, an intensified family feud began, regarding his Rs. 30,000 crore asset. Recently, Sunjay and Karisma’s children, Kiaan and Samaira, moved to the Delhi High Court to challenge their late father’s will, which allegedly left everything to Priya Kapur, thereby alleging forgery while seeking their rightful share in Sunjay’s estimated Rs. 30,000 crore assets.
Rani Kapur accuses Priya Kapur of trying to sell Sunjay Kapur’s assets
Amid the intensified family feud, Sunjay Kapur’s mom, Rani Kapur, also filed a lawsuit against Priya Kapur. She, in the suit, mentioned they certainly don’t have anything. Rani Kapur’s counsel and the senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar recently claimed that Priya Kapur is trying to sell the assets of Sunjay Kapur. According to Rani’s lawsuit, she has written more than 15 emails requesting the will.
Rani also mentioned that she has Rs. 10,000 crore worth of assets, but she is now left with nothing after her son’s death. Mentioning that within three months of Priya’s arrival, everything is gone, Rani, in the suit, has claimed:
“Today, I have nothing. I have written at least 15 emails asking about the will, what are the documents? Not a word has been shared. I have been told that my emails have been compromised. There is something incredibly unholy. Rs 10,000 crore worth of assets should have been mine. I am 80 years old. Mother, her vested interest goes into trust. All gone. I am nowhere. Ms Sachdeva (Priya) comes in, and within three months of her getting married, everything goes? My son today leaves me with not a roof on my head.”
The feud between Karisma Kapoor’s kids and Priya Sunjay Kapur
According to the reports, Samaira and Kiaan have filed a legal lawsuit against their stepmother, Priya, accusing her of forgery and claiming an equal share in their father’s business. On the other hand, Priya’s lawyers also counterclaimed that Kiaan and Samaira were given Rs. 1990 crore worth of assets just a few days after they filed the lawsuit, and they subsequently changed the tone, thereby dragging the case to court. Sunjay’s sister, Mandhira, also extended support to Karisma Kapoor’s kids.
Soon after Sunjay’s passing, his mom, Rani Kapur, raised suspicion about her son’s demise. She revealed that she was blocked from each of her accounts, thereby being left with nothing. Rani Kapur also claimed back then that she had selected one to be part of Sona Comstar after Sunjay’s death, yet things were being fixed. While requesting to postpone the AGM, Rani also shared how she was forced to sign documents behind the locked doors when she was navigating the pain of losing her son. Rani shared that she couldn’t understand the content of the documents, and even after asking multiple times, she was denied any kind of clarification.
For the unversed, Sunjay was married to Karisma Kapoor, and they have two kids, Kiaan and Samaira. After several years of marital bliss, Sunjay and Karisma parted ways. In 2017, Sunjay married Priya, who was by then already divorced from Vikram Chatwal, with their daughter, Safira. Well, Priya has always been close to Karisma’s kids, and they would often spend time together; the former also used to post about her stepkids frequently.
