A video of a US-based man expressing surprise at the number of Indian-origin workers at London’s Heathrow Airport has stirred debate online. During his layover at one of the world’s busiest airports, he claimed he didn’t come across “a single British person” working there.
The clip, posted by the man using the Instagram handle “Immigrateful,” has already garnered over 5,58,000 views.
In the video, he says that every staff member he interacted with — from security to shops and service counters — appeared to be of Indian origin. While he praised their politeness and efficiency, he questioned why none of the staff seemed to be native Britons.
“I just landed in London. I’m at the airport. And I keep walking around the centre of the airport, where the restaurants are and everything. I don’t see any British people working. Not one,” he said, before adding: “Every single one of them is Indian.”
He later defended his remarks, insisting they weren’t racist but a “legitimate question” about local representation in the workplace. As an immigrant himself, he argued he values seeing locals in the workforce of any country he visits.
“If I walk around the United States, I want to see Americans. I don’t want every person that I see and works to be somebody else,” he said.

Unsurprisingly, several social media users had plenty to say about the video. Some of the users reminded him that appearances can be misleading. “Everyone with brown skin is not an Indian. You need to travel more, especially to South Asia, to know the difference between various brown nationalities,” a user wrote.
“They may be Pakistanis or Bangladeshis. Just because they look similar doesn’t mean they’re all Indians. By your analogy, if I were in America, I should only expect to see Native Americans — not immigrants,” another user added.
This is not the first time such things have been flagged by someone walking through Heathrow Airport. Earlier, a British woman slammed Heathrow shop staff for speaking in Hindi.
