Britney Spears has been slowly rebuilding a relationship with her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, amid growing concerns over her mental health.
The “Gimme More” singer and her boys are “healing together,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that “the boys are maturing and they want their mom in their lives, and Britney is really happy about that. She’s so grateful to have them in her life. She feels whole again.”
A second source told the outlet that Spears, 43, and her teenage sons have “turned the page when it comes to their relationship.”
Jayden, 18, has reportedly been spearheading a reconciliation with his famous mom.
“He always knew they’d find their way back to each other eventually, but he’s grateful that it happened sooner than later,” a third source told Us Weekly.
“Britney and Jayden have had a close bond since he was very young, so slowly getting into their old groove has felt special and [healing for] both of them.”
Meanwhile, Sean, 19, is moving at a steady pace when it comes to rebuilding a relationship with the pop star and visited Los Angeles twice when his younger brother went.
“[Sean and Britney are] slowly building more trust. Britney respects his wishes and is being very thoughtful of his [feelings],” said the first source, adding, “they’re focusing on communication without judgment of one another. Britney’s really listening now … Rather than playing her old-school parental role, she’s humbling herself. What’s most important is for them to have a healthy relationship.”
Both siblings have reportedly “processed” their past experiences with Spears in different ways.
The third source said the boys have “both been through different challenges with Britney. Jayden’s healing process is a little further along than Preston’s.
“He still has mixed feelings, but seeing Jayden reunite with Britney has given him hope for their own future.”
The “Toxic” singer’s “biggest priority right now” is rebuilding a relationship with her sons.
“[Jayden and Preston] both still have hesitations, but it has gotten better after spending time with her,” claimed the second source, while the first insider added, “The boys know Britney loves them so much, and [that they’re] the first thing she thinks about in the morning and the last thing she thinks about at night.”
Though Spears and the teens aren’t constantly communicating, she speaks to Jayden every few days and her eldest child a few times a month.
“Britney reaches out to Preston more than he reaches out to her. [But] they all initiate contact whenever they want. They communicate over the phone, FaceTime and text,” the first source told Us Weekly.
Page Six has reached out to Spears for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Last year, the “Crossroads” actress reunited with Jayden after years of estrangement.
“They have been spending a lot of time together,” an insider told Page Six last November.
“Britney is thrilled to have her baby back,” a second source told us. “Everything is moving in the right direction.”
Spears shares her sons with her second ex-husband, Kevin Federline, with whom the singer was married from 2004 to 2007.
Sean and Jayden moved to Hawaii with the former backup dancer, 47, in 2023.
Meanwhile, friends, family and fans of Spears have expressed concern about her mental health after she posted videos of herself dancing erratically in her LA home that was covered in dog poop.
An insider recently told the Daily Mail that the Grammy winner is “having an episode right now, and we are going to see her battle through it the way she has for years.”
Another person from Spears’ family said they are “worried” about the actress, adding that she is “not doing well at all” and they are “terrified for her future.”
“Her house is a mess. She doesn’t clean up after the dogs, she doesn’t have someone there cleaning every day, and she just isn’t functioning like an adult would function,” they added.
