Dhanashree Verma kept her calm and avoided giving any big statements in the media, while her ex-husband, Yuzvendra Chahal, openly slammed her with a ‘Be Your Own Sugar Daddy’ dig. After which, people started trolling Dhanashree and hailed Yuzvendra for his behaviour. Yuzvendra then went on to reveal the reason, hinting that it was due to their divorce settlements and the huge alimony. Now, Dhanashree expressed her hurt and slammed Yuzvendra’s behaviour.

Dhanashree Verma participated in Ashneer Grover’s hosted Rise and Fall. The choreographer talked about her divorce journey. Dhanashree shared that it is each partner’s responsibility to maintain each other’s respect. She added that she could have also disrespected him. She hinted that as a woman, she also had a lot of things to say, but she knew he was her husband. Dhanashree was quoted as saying:
“When you are in marriage, then you are responsible ki dusre person ka bhi respect aapke haath mein hota hai. Chah kar main bhi disrespect kar sakti thi. You think I don’t have things to say as a woman, but he was my husband. I respected even when I was married and I have to respect it now that I was married to him.”
When Nayandeep Rakshit interrupted and asked if she was cynical of love, Dhanashree stated that it was a big word to say. But she is just not interested in love right now. In another promo, Dhanashree Verma joked about how she would be getting trolled. During a task, contestants were asked to choose between a gold bag worth Rs. 2 lakh or a silver bag worth Rs. 1 lakh.
Dhanashree was paired with Arjun Bijlani, who said that diamond and silver don’t suit him, but gold suits him. To this, Dhanashree stated that she can’t even say this, as people would start trolling her. She said:
“Yeh line toh main bol nahi sakti. Agar maine yeh line bol di toh jo mujhe pyaar milne vala hoga vo bhi nahi milega.”

Recently, Dhanashree Verma sat for an interview with Humans of Bombay, wherein she bared her heart out for the first time about her divorce, ugly name-calling, and being blamed for it all. When the host questioned her about Yuzvendra Chahal’s t-shirt drama, Dhanashree shared that she knew people were going to blame her even before the t-shirt stunt happened. She said:
“We came out peeche se, mai ne toh normal t-shirt pehni hai, humko thuri dikhana hai camera ke aage aake kuch batana hai. So, I went peeche ke raaste se and I went and sat in my car. And my friend was there with me and we were still trying to grasp our breath. It was that shaky moment of your life and you know people are going to blame you only. Even before this t-shirt stunt happened, we all were aware that people are going to blame me for this because of the pattern.”
Dhanashree further revealed her thoughts when she found out about Yuzvendra’s t-shirt and the words written on it. She was left in shock, having not expected him to pull off such a stunt. Furthermore, when the host told her that Chahal had shared in an interview that he wanted to convey his message. Dhanashree expressed her thoughts, stating that he could have WhatsApped her, but why on a T-shirt? She said:
“Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyu pehna hai? Fir toh ek t-shirt bhi kafi nahi.”
