Jennifer Aniston stepped out in SoHo, New York City, on Monday in a pair of heels that nodded to one of 2025’s late-summer and early fall footwear trends: the loafer.
Her pair featured a pointed silhouette in black leather, cut with a vamp reminiscent of the penny loafer but without the traditional slot. The shoe’s stiletto heel carried its own twist — what appears to be a marbled gold finish that echoed bamboo detailing seen on designer styles from brands including Gucci and Prada.

The “Morning Show” star paired the heels with a black pin-striped vest and matching trousers, plus gold hoops, layered necklaces and a small leather bag.
The outing followed her August appearance in Tkees’ Lily Liner flip-flops in sable, a $60 thong sandal. That earlier look tapped into the divisive surge of elevated flip-flops this summer, including pairs from The Row and Dolce & Gabbana’s Havaianas collaboration.

Loafers themselves have been staging a comeback this year, from classic flats to directional reworks. Rita Ora leaned into the shape in July, styling a dark leather pair between plexiglass wedges from Sportmax and lug-sole boots from Stuart Weitzman. Doechii made the case at Outside Lands last month in Miu Miu’s brushed leather loafers with logo socks, while Kate Middleton chose Pretty Ballerina’s cognac suede version during a museum visit in London. Barbara Palvin, Lori Harvey and Kylie Jenner have also favored the silhouette across summer appearances.
The penny loafer dates back to midcentury prep, once defined by the slot on its saddle strap. In 2025, brands have reissued the style with stacked soles, logo plates and heeled variations. Aniston’s outing shows how that DNA is translating into sharper, city-ready forms — a loafer vamp shifted onto a statement stiletto.
