A 20-year-old woman from Haridevpur has accused two acquaintances, Chandan Mallick and Dwip (Deep) Biswas, of gang-raping her during her birthday celebration on September 5. Both suspects are currently on the run, and police have launched an investigation. Sources revealed that the victim had known Mallick for several months, who claimed to be the head of a South Kolkata puja committee and later introduced her to Dwip. The accused allegedly lured her with promises of involvement in the committee, leading to frequent interactions.
