Sanjay Dutt is a popular Bollywood actor, who has often made headlines because of his personal life, whether it be about the fun moments of his life or his difficult time in jail. Most recently, Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty appeared on the popular Netflix show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, where the Munna Bhai M.B.B.S actor, opened up about his past struggles and time in jail.
Sanjay Dutt used to work with murder convicts in jail
During a candid conversation with Kapil Sharma and Archana Puran Singh on the show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, Sanjay Dutt was asked about his regret in life. To that, he mentioned that apart from losing his parents, he has no other regret. Then, with his trademark wit, he added that, “Baki yaar jail gaya bahar aaya”. His reply made the audience burst into laughter. Later, when Archana asked him about his time in jail, he shared:
“Mujhe pagar milti thi, agar meine kursiyan banayi toh pagar milti thi ya paper bags toh pagar milti thi. Maine ek natak company bhi shuru ki thi. Main wahan uska director tha aur murder wale sab natak karte the.”
While talking about his time in jail, Sanjay Dutt shared an interesting incident, which left everyone in shock. He mentioned, once the jail superintendent had told him that his beard looks off and the superintendent asked another prisoner, Mishra ji, to help him shave his beard with a razor. While getting the beard shaved, Sanjay Dutt asked Mishra ji, the reason he was in jail since the last 15 years. To which, he replied ‘double murder.’ Hearing this, Sanjay Dutt was shocked.
A fan’s confession made Sanjay Dutt bow to him
Apart from Sanjay Dutt recalling his time in jail, there was another moment from the episode that captured a lot of attention. It was when a fan confessed that he had brought both his wife and girlfriend to watch the show. Hearing that, the Kalank actor stood up, walked up to the fan and his reaction left everyone laughing. Sanjay Dutt jokingly asked the fan:
“Yeh aapne kaise kiya? Hume bhi sikha dijiye.”

Sanjay Dutt was born on July 29, 1959, and is the son of actor-politician, Sunil Dutt and actress, Nargis. He made his acting debut with the film, Rocky, and soon became a popular face because of his action-packed roles. He gained widespread popularity with the comic-dramatic, Munna Bhai franchise. Later, he went on to do films like Saajan, Khalnayak, Vaastav and more. Recently he was seen in films like Jawan, Housefull 5, Bhuj, Sadak 2, Baaghi 4 and more.
In his personal life, Sanjay Dutt was first married to Richa Sharma, who died in 1996. Then, he tied the knot with Rhea Pillai, with whom he has a daughter, Trishala, who lives abroad. In 2008, Sanjay Dutt married Manyata Dutt and the couple has two twins, Shahraan and Iqra. One of the most popular chapters of his life is the legal trouble related to 1993 Mumbai blasts case, which ended him behind bars for years. That incident also changed his entire public image.
