Poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor slammed the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for coming together for Bihar polls, suggesting that their alliance may not live up to the people’s expectations. He particularly lamented RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s rein, and remembering those days, said that the Congress should have stayed away from the party.

Speaking exclusively on India Today show Unpolitics, the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) chief said that Lalu Yadav’s reign ruined Bihar and questioned the Congress forming an alliance with them to take on the BJP and the JDU.

Attacking the Congress, Kishor said that Rahul Gandhi is fully aware of RJD’s history and their record and thus should have refrained from forging an alliance with Lalu Yadav.

“If the Congress was not with the RJD, I would have helped them. I would not have been in coalition with them, but I would surely have helped them,” Kishor said.
