As expected, 2026 is shaping up to be a packed year for the Air Jordan 6’s 35th anniversary. Joining first-release Reverse Infrared and Cap & Gown colorways is the return of an original 1991 style of the classic sneaker.

According to Sneaker Files and @zsneakerheadz, the Air Jordan 6 Retro will be reissued in White Infrared during the second half of ’26. And for the first time ever, the original Michael Jordan colorway will return with its Nike Air heel branding, a detail that hasn’t been seen on this particular style since its ’91 release.

The Air Jordan 6 Retro White Infrared was one of five of the model’s original ’91 looks alongside the Black Infrared, Carmine, Maroon, and Sport Blue colorways. Only three of the pairs — the Black Infrared, Carmine and White Infrared — were worn by Jordan in NBA action.

With a white leather upper, black tongue and heel pull tabs and bright Infrared striping across the midsole, the White Infrared version of the Air Jordan 6 essentially functioned as an alternate colorway to its the Black Infrared counterpart. Both pairs were reissued on various occasions in the decades since their debut, but the Black Infrared has been seen more frequently.

The first retro for the White Infrared style came in 2010 as part of a two-sneaker “Infrared Pack” alongside the aforementioned Black Infrared. That same year, a similar White/Varsity Red pair was released with a different shade of red, a detail that has become a contentious point among sneaker fans. The style last appeared in 2014, although none of the reissues thus far have included the shoe’s original Nike Air branding, instead using the Jumpman logo in its place.

For the first time, the Air Jordan 6 Retro White Infrared is set to return with its original Nike Air detailing with a slated release date of late ’26. A style code has not yet been confirmed, but retail pricing of $215 is expected from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers.
