At Justin Bieber’s “Swag II” album release party in New York on Friday, Livvy Dunne arrived in one of the season’s quietest but most persistent trends: the clear mule.
Her pair featured a nude base with a wide PVC strap across the toes, a softly rounded footbed and a kitten heel hovering around 2.5 inches. The silhouette read leg-lengthening and nearly invisible, part of the broader wave of transparent shoes dominating late-summer nightlife.

Dunne styled the sandals with a fitted brown minidress and Burberry’s archive check crossbody bag. The muted palette emphasized clean lines, letting the footwear blur into the look rather than compete with it.
The LSU gymnast and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star has kept to a minimalist streak in footwear this year. In May, she wore Black Suede Studio’s Jade 65 strappy mules at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Social Club, and days later, thong sandals with a ribbed L*Space dress. Both leaned on slim straps and pared-back tones.

Even when she veered away in June with Converse x Isabel Marant wedge sneakers at Fanatics Fest, the detour highlighted how consistent her shoe baseline has become: muted palettes, streamlined silhouettes and now, transparent finishes.
The choice also lands as a cheeky echo of her off-the-mat portfolio. As the new face of Invisalign, Dunne has been promoting what can’t be seen — making a clear-strap heel a fitting extension of that ethos.
She’s far from alone in the trend. In August, Camila Mendes wore Gianvito Rossi’s Elle stiletto mules with a transparent strap to the Los Angeles premiere of “Griffin in Summer.” Weeks earlier, Rita Ora anchored a white mini with Sportmax’s plexiglass wedges in SoHo. Khloé Kardashian, Angela Bassett and Shay Shariatzadeh have all rotated through clear-panel heels on carpets this season.
With transparent footwear continuing its run across red carpets and celebrity parties, Dunne’s PVC kitten heels slot neatly into the trend. The style may be barely visible, but it’s become one of the most reliable markers of her ongoing minimalist streak.
