TV actor, Ashish Kapoor was arrested in Delhi after a 24-year-old woman accused him of rape and assault. The incident came to light in the early hours of August 11 when the woman reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted by four men at a party. Ever since his arrest, he has dominated the headlines.

Amid the ongoing case, Ashish Kapoor undergoes a medical potency test, which is considered crucial. The case has been registered at Delhi’s Civil Lines police station. As per the Delhi Police:
“This report will be used as crucial evidence against him in the alleged rape case.”
Ashish Kapoor was on a run after the incident
Ashish Kapoor’s arrest and the allegations against him came as a shock to his industry mates and his fans. He was on a run for three weeks and was arrested in Pune. Talking about how the actor slipped away from one place to another, a senior officer told HT:
“The team has been looking for him. He was earlier traced to Goa, but when the team reached, he slipped away. He was then traced to Pune, where he was found living with a friend and was arrested on Tuesday.”
What are the allegations laid on Ashish Kapoor by the victim
According to the FIR, the complainant alleged that the incident occurred in the second week of August during a house party in Delhi. The woman revealed that she met Ashish on Instagram, and he invited her to a friend’s place for a party. She alleged that her drink was spiked by the actor, as after consuming it, she felt disoriented. In the disoriented state, she was taken to the washroom by Ashish and his two friends. She was raped and assaulted there. Initially, the woman mentioned Ashish and the names of two other individuals; however, she later revised parts of her statement, accusing only Ashish.
The victim in her complaint reportedly alleged that it was Ashish and his friend who raped her, and a woman had hit her. Ashish’s friend and his wife were later granted anticipatory bail. Not just this, the victim also stated that the actor threatened to leak her video if she went to the police. According to police officials, the CCTV footage shows Ashish and the woman entering the bathroom. After some moments, his friends and other guests knocked on the door, and soon an argument broke out.
